Tianjin Port

Tianjin Port, also known as Tianjin Xingang (XINGANG, CHINA), is located at the western end of the Bohai Bay in Tianjin Binhai New Area. It is backed by Xiong’an New District, radiating northeast, north, northwest and other inland areas in China and also connecting Northeast Asia with Central and western Asia. It is themaritime gateway to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the starting point of the eastern part of the Sino-Mongolian-Russian economic corridor, the importance of the New Eurasian Continental Bridge, and the support point for strategy of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

As a world-class artificial deep-water port, Tianjin Port has 176 berth points for containers, ores, coal, coke, crude oil and products, steel, large equipment,rolling stock cars, liquefied natural gas, bulk grain, international cruises and other types of berths, 122 of which are over 10,000 tons.

In 2016, Tianjin Port’s cargo handling capacity exceeded 550 million tons, ranking fifth in the world; container throughput exceeded 14.5 million TEUs, ranking 10th in the world.

It consists of five port areas: The Beijang Port Area mainly focuses on container and groceries; Nanjiang Port Area is engaged in dry bulk and liquid bulk cargo; Dongjiang Port Area is mainly engaged in container loading and unloading, international shipping, international logistics, international trade, offshore finance and other modern service industries and its eastern region is improving the supporting functions of the city; Southern Area of Lingang Economic Zone takes heavy equipment manufacturing, new energy, grain and oil light industry as the main development direction; The Eastern Part of Nangang Port Area is a new port area dominated by bulk commodities such as coal and ore. So Tianjin port is vast with land-water region area and rich with shoreline resources.

Tianjin Port has extensive trade with more than 500 ports and more than 180 countries and regions in the world. It has 120 container liner routes and more than 550 monthly flights. It is connected to all major ports in the world and has strong internal radiation, with nearly 5 million square kilometers area, accounting for 52% of the country’s total area. About 70% of the cargo and more than 50% of import and export value come from other provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.

As the only port which has three transit routes for Eurasian Continental Bridges in China, it has a perfect service functions and strong regional radiation capacity. The Tianjin International Trade and Shipping Service Center has been established as the largest “one-stop” shipping service center in China. Also, Tianjin port has successfully implemented a “three-in-one” customs clearance mode for one declaration, one checking and one release. The customs clearance environment will be continuously optimized. The container throughput of Tianjin Port will reach 17 million TEU in 2020.
